Palandöken Ski Center; Palandöken Mountains, covering an area of 70 km in length and 25 km in width, was declared a Winter Tourism Center in 1993.

Within this center; there are 3 ski centers consisting of Erzurum (Hınıs) Bogaz, Konaklı and Gez Plateau. Erzurum Strait is also known as Palandöken Ski Center.

Palandöken Ski Center has two slopes registered by the International Ski Federation (FIS) for slalom and big slalom competitions. Located in the south of Erzurum, Palandöken, at an altitude of 3,176 m, is one of the most important ski resorts in the world with its structure suitable for skiing for 5 months, snow quality and long slopes.

Hosting the 25th World University Winter Games in 2011, Erzurum has become one of the new centers of attraction for winter tourism in Turkey and the world. The slopes in Palandöken, which allows even the Winter Olympics to be organized, are among the longest and steepest in the world.

Palandöken was ranked 18th among 41 ski resorts in the world by the New York Times Newspaper. In Erzurum, where snowfall occurs in October-November, the ski season starts in November and lasts until the end of April.

Palandöken maintains its “powder snow” feature, which allows skiing, throughout the ski season due to its climate. 10 chairlifts, 1 chairlift, 2 baby lifts, 1 gondola lift, 2 baby lifts and 1 gondola lift serve on the slopes of Palandöken Ski Center between 2000 and 3176 meters. While the gondola lift reaches Dragon Hill with a 1000-meter climb, there are 7 easy, 8 medium, professional (difficult) and 4 natural slopes in Palandöken. Approximately 12 thousand people can ski on all slopes at the same time.

While Palandöken Ski Center offers extremely suitable slopes for alpine skiing and snowboarding, it also offers an alternative for different types of tourism such as paragliding, mountaineering, snowtube, paintball. The surrounding area of Palandöken Mountain, with its natural park appearance, offers different beauties in four seasons as a sightseeing, picnic and viewing area.

Palandoken is also a congress tourism center. With avalanche prevention and artificial snow systems, Palandöken Ski Resort is only five kilometers away from the most modern hospitals in Erzurum, a health city. There are 2 5-star, 1 4-star, 1 3-star and 1 2-star hotel in Palandöken Ski Center, which can serve skiers of all levels. There are many 3 and 2 star hotels in the city center.
